All, I’m very excited to be an official CA sponsor and to have a forum here! While many of you know me (some as far back as the early Red Wine Audio days), it is my hope that having a active forum here will reach a whole new audience of listeners who are not aware of the Vinnie Rossi brand and our ground-breaking, award-winning products. Our main product is the LIO, which is a revolutionary product platform: www.vinnierossi.com With all the shows that I've exhibited at since LIO was introduced in 2014, all the excellent reviews, and all our customers (and your valuable feedback!), many of you are now seeing - and most importantly, hearing - what LIO is all about: - A game-changing product platform that is designed for long-term ownership and enjoyment (not a flavor-of-the-month product). - Total isolation from the AC mains... w/o the use of batteries (the quality of the power feeding LIO has no sonic influence on what you hear), via super-low output impedance, patent-pending ultracapacitor power supply design. - A modular design where the customer can easily configure for their current and future needs, and have fun upgrading without losing money (100% trade up program). - New modules, ideas and improvements/upgrades brought to life from your valuable customer feedback. LIO is designed for future innovation be easily added in. - Very high value, factory-direct sales model. - 10-year warranty on the entire product (parts & labor) with best customer service out there! Made in the USA. - Solid build quality, very clean circuit layouts, and in the unlikely event that something needs replacing for whatever reason - it gets taken care of ASAP. - 30-day return policy: The best way to experience LIO is in your home system. - FUN... as cleaning up and simplifying your system and transitioning to LIO means more time and enjoyment listening to your music. And when you have the itch to roll tubes, upgrade, or even just try a new module and compare to the previous one (or compare to another component), it is easy to do! All of the above was my vision after 10-years of growing and learning from Red Wine Audio. I hope many more of you get to experience LIO in 2017, via the trade shows, and hopefully in your own home! Vinnie Rossi pioneered isolated, ultracapacitor power for high-end audio! Since LIO was introduced in 2014, I have received numerous requests for a dedicated DC power supply product that uses the same patent-pending, isolated, ultracapacitor-based power supply technology ("PURE-DC-4EVR"). This year, we introduced our MINI PURE-DC-4EVR (“The MINI”) - a patent-pending, isolated ultracapacitor power supply with super-regulated DC output voltage: Vinnie Rossi MINI PURE DC-4-EVR Power Supply With MINI, you simply plug your AC power cable in, and you get ultracapacitor isolated, super-regulated DC out (Can be configured from 3.3V to 12V, and we will soon be releasing a version of the MINI that can output in the 15V – 24V range). MINI delivers a healthy 2.5A continuous output current (> 5A peaks). As 2016 comes to an end, I continue to work on new LIO modules and ultracapacitor power supply solutions that I am looking forward to discussing in detail here in this CA forum! I want to THANK YOU ALL for your enthusiasm, excitement and support – and wishing you all a Happy (and healthy, “musically involving”) 2017! Vinnie

All, I am starting this thread for general discussion of LIO. There will be other threads specific to particular LIO modules that will follow, but this will be a fine place to post general questions about LIO. You can find a lot of information on our website: www.vinnierossi.com The PRODUCTS menu has a drop down to different LIO configurations (DAC, Phonostage, Preamp, Integrated Amp), a "Custom configure LIO" (make it exactly the way you want!), as well as a sub menu for the various LIO modules to learn about them in more detail. For example, LIO DHT PRE: DHT PRE - Vinnie Rossi Audio This is our Directly Heated Triode linestage module for LIO that was introduced last Spring. Many LIO customers upgraded to it and received 100% trade-in credit for their RVC + Tubestage, or AVC/Tubestage modules. If you want to learn about our Patent Pending ultracapacitor power supply that occupied half of the entire LIO, check out the LIO Technology page: LIO Technology for the Audiophile Most of the pages on our website have tabs, such as a tab for Features, Specifications, Options. You'll also see a FORUM link on our menu at the top. When you click it, it takes you to our forum on Audiocircle.com. It has over 80 separate threads, each with many posts, about all things LIO since 2014. So why the forum here on CA, you ask? While some of you are present on both forums, I know there are many who are not and I wanted to branch out a little. I've been a fan of CA for a while now and have visited here every now and then, and decided to start a sponsored forum for 2017. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for participating here! Vinnie

From LAAS2017, Suite 476: Vinnie Rossi LIO DHT Integrated Amp (with custom Spatial Audio X1 amp module), Spatial Audio X1's and Paul Speltz's ANTICABLES: FINALLY - I have a spacious exhibit room (I jumped in early on reserving a full-sized sweet), and the LIO DHT Integrated (with X1 Amp module) + Spatial Audio X1's + Paul Speltz's ANTICABLES are sounding incredibly good together! They really can DO IT ALL! Hopefully some CA members who had the opportunity to listen will post their impressions soon enough, and I'll be sure to update this thread with show coverage as it becomes available! Vinnie

All, AXPONA was another successful and packed show! This year I kept it clean n' simple and showed the following: - LIO configured with: DAC, Phonostage, DHT PRE, & MOSFET AMP - Harbeth's new SHL5plus "40th Anniversary" Edition speakers - Acoustic Signature Wow XL Turntable & arm - All cabling by Triode Wire labs. [Direct USB connection from Macbook Air (running Roon) to LIO DAC] As you can see, even the speaker stands / racks used were rather simple. It turns out that we received a very nice pair of stands from Rensonant Woods , but unfortunately, they just were not tall enough (especially with the hotel chairs) to get the soundstage high enough for me, and considering that a packed room also has many people standing, I decided we needed to elevate the speakers. The hotel room had a few end tables of the perfect height, and fortunately there were solid (marble top, maybe 50 lbs each) and we put cloths over them and they sure did the trick in a pinch. Certainly not audiophile-approved, but for those who came to the room and listened with their ears instead of their eyes, the system sounded excellent! For example, vocal tracks from Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, The Fairfield Four, and others delivered spot-on imagining, realism, and a 'disappearing act' with the speakers that left many tapping toes and showing big smiles, and kept many attendees in the room for a while. Quite a few came back numerous times and just couldn't get enough of the system! From the sources, to the cabling, LIO, and Harbeth's - the system overall played exceptionally well together and I appreciated all the compliments and enthusiasm of the attendees. It was a pleasure to meet many new faces, and see many familiar ones as well. Here are some more pics of the system (sorry, low-res from my smartphone): Enter the KR AUDIO PX-4 DHT On Friday I was using SV811s (a show favorite with the SHL5's), but on Saturday morning a customer surprised me with a new pair of KR Audio PX-4s that he just bought the week before and has fallen in love with. He was willing to let me borrow them for the rest of the show if I liked them, and I couldn't resist trying a new DHT with the LIO. Not an inexpensive tube (~ $800/pair ?), but they AMAZED us all! These tubes have the rich midrange of the SV811's, but with a more extended top end and more solid bass, . It was a tube that could play rock, jazz, classical, electronica... all equally well and left some LIO customers who visited wanting to get a pair for themselves (myself included!). These tubes run on the 4V filament setting and only draw 1.1A of current each, so they run fairly cool and should last a very long time in the LIO DHT PRE circuit. I'll be sure to post links to feedback of show attendees and members of the press. And for Audiocircle memebers who visited, please post your impressions and thank you in advance! Vinnie

Hello CA members! Looking ahead to 2017, I thought I'd post about the upcoming audio shows that I'll be exhibiting at: 1) AXPONA (April 21 - 23, 2017) The first show of the year for me will be AXPONA. AXPONA 2016 was a killer show and where I brought a pre-production Sonore microRendu that Jesus R. sent to me, along with Roon playback software on my MacBook, and a fully-loaded LIO Integrated with DHT PRE (the first time I showed it!). Well, I'll be doing it again this year ;-) If you missed AXPONA, definitely try to make it this year because it is fast becoming the hot show in the USA. It was packed all 3 days. I posted about it on my forum over on audiocircle.com, here: Hello from AXPONA 2016! I'll be teaming up with Harbeth USA, and will have the latest LIO (new modules to be announced next month!) 2) High End Show in Munich, Germany (May 18 - 21, 2017) This will be my first time at the Munich show - which many tell me has become *the* high end audio show of the world! What makes this special is that I'll be teaming up with Clayton Shaw of Spatial Audio, and his European distributor. I have been working with Clayton on his upcoming reference OB speakers... the X1. Essentially, I'm coming out with LIO X1 modules. One will be a 4-channel amp (amp channel for each driver) with built-in active crossover and EQ (all in the analog domain). The other will be an X1 active crossover / EQ module with line level outputs (RCA or XLR) to be used with external power amps. You can read more about this very exciting development, here: Custom LIO solutions for the new Spatial Audio X1 Uniwave Louspeakers! and more about the X1, here: X1 Main — SPATIAL AUDIO, and here: SPATIAL AUDIO - X1 UNIWAVE INTRODUCTION Munich will be the world debut of the LIO + Spatial X1... expect very high bang for the buck performance! 3) Los Angeles Audio Show (LAAS) - June 2 - 4, 2017 We'll be showing the LIO + Spatial X1's (USA debut) shortly after Munich, at the new LAAS. I already booked a decent sized corner suite room for this show. LAAS has the potential to be the hottest USA show of 2017, and it seems like many audio companies know this because the exhibit rooms are selling out in a flash! 4) RMAF 2017 Most likely RMAF will be next... ----- I'll be sure to update this thread as we get closer to the shows above, and I'll post show coverage threads on this forum as well after each show. I hope to see many of you in 2017 - please stop by to say "hi" and have a good listen. And don't forgot to bring your music (USB stick, CD, LP...) and have a good time! Vinnie
