With so much fawning recently in the audio world over a certain person with inflated/questionable credentials, I propose that we put things in proper perspective by discussing the truly great men and women in audio history, who have made indisputable contributions to a hobby that is capable of bringing music from all over the world and reaching back into time into our homes and lives every day.
I'd like to start with Edward C. Wente, whose work on microphones and loudspeakers was so groundbreaking and important.
