  1. Question about Trigger cables!

Hi I am new to this forum and hoping someone could help me understand something. I am going to use my computer's soundcard as my pre-amp and was looking at buying the Emotiva UPA-200 as my power amplifier. My question is this: My soundcard obviously doesn't have a 12v trigger output on it and I am wondering if the trigger input on the amp is required. If no cable is plugged into the amp will it be in an "always on" state? Or Will I not be able to get it out of standby mode by using a soundcard as the pre? Thanks in advance for any responses.
