  1. Hi I am wondering if Diet Pi (or Volumio) will work installed on an Allo USBridge in my current system. I understand Diet Pi is preferred to Volumio from other posts although Volumio looks like it's easier to install. My music library is stored on files on USB drives attached to a 32 bit MacBook running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and on a 32 bit Windows VIsta PC. These are all on my LAN. I have an older version of LMS installed on the Mac because I used to have a Squeezebox Touch. I cannot install or run the latest versions of LMS or Minim Server because they will not work on either of my Mac or PC OSes (I know, I need to upgrade my computers). I am using an Auralic Aries which runs on Lightning Server which doesn't need installation on the above computers to work. So if I install Diet Pi on an Allo USBridge, what else do I need? Do I need a server and/or player software? If so, what are the system requirements? Will the software work on 32 bit computers? Thanks

  3. Hi I am using Picore player on my Rpi 3, Logitec Media Server with Tidal Plug in on my Synology NAS Everything plays great except in my Tidal Favourites Albums there is exactly only 1 - 500 No more Albums after 500. I have check all the settings in LMS and can't find any obvious settings for this... Any thoughts please. i am using Squeezebox app on the I pad and I phone and also Ipeng and it is the same on both. I have made another SD card with NEW Picore image and tried that but alas the same...Rebooted the NAS drive ...still the same.. Any thoughts please.
  4. I wonder if anyone either using Roon or HQPLAYER to upsample to 384 to a (Hugo) DAC via Raspberry Pi could check the following for me. Basically at this upsampling rate I get left to right speaker inversion. Totally reproducible and doesn't happen at any lower rate. It also doesn't happen with direct connection between PC and HUGO. Searching doesn't seem to come up with anyone else having this issue, I'm unsure whether it is due to an interaction between Hugo and Raspberry Pi or just a Pi issue as I have no other DAC to check. So I'd be obliged if anyone upsampling to 384 with Raspberry Pi can check if Ringo moves from left to right speaker or whatever track you have that will display the left to right inverted nature. Im using dietpi. 384 kernel activated. Thanks in advance. .sjb
  5. Usb cable delay on playback

I have a playback delay problem using a USB Cable on Rpi3.. I have cheaper USB that plays with 4 seconds between tracks. When i try the 'Posh' expensive USB cable, it turns into 30 + seconds between tracks! (sounds better though!) I am using Rpi3 to USB/SPDif converter to a DAC. Picoreplayer and LSM. Squeezebox app on iPad/iphone to control.. Any thoughts??
  6. Hi all, I'm looking for some advice around DACs and whether it's worth the investment in my case. I'm thinking of equipping my RPi1B with a DAC.. but I wonder how much I can gain, given that the quality produced by the sound system is only as good as its weakest link. I do have some better BOSE Speakers, but I'm not quite sure how good my amp is. It's some older Sony MHC-701 'all-in-one' thing that I use only on AUX these days. Right now, I'm driving this with a pretty cheap Speedlink Vigo USB sound card (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0042RUGLK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It's noticably better than the onboard sound output of the RPi, but that's easy. And which DAC would you guys recommend to equip a RPi 1B with? From searching around the net, I'm beginning to get the impression that that the 1B is quite 'old' already and many of the DACs currently available out there are (no longer) compatible. Correct? The only one compatible I've found so far is the HiFiBerry DAC (https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/boards/hifiberry-dac-rca/). Did I miss any other compatible DAC? I still like the 'old' guy and wouldn't like to retire it already... but are there any trade-offs to be made when running a DAC on the 1B rather than a newer version like the 3B? I would be a bit surprised if there are (given that everything is digital even in the 1B), but maybe I'm missing something. Thanks much & Cheers! Jonas
  7. Hello, I'm interested in trying HQplayer and using my RPI2 as a NAA device. I tried finding answers to these questions but failed, I apologize if this is too basic... 1. Which version of the NAA demon suits the RPI2? Jessy? AMD? 2. Is there a way of controlling the HQplayer running on a windows server with an iOS app? Perhaps a third party one? Thanks you!
