I just read this: Arse Technica: We can now convert every film and TV show from the last 80 years into HDR It seems to do the right thing. Presumably audio is an easier target. Could an analogous approach be used to expand dynamic range in a non-artificial way?

Does CA need Moderators and if so, who would volunteer or recommend someone? First and foremost it is of course *entirely* ChrisC's prerogative to choose to have or not have moderators. (Edit - secondly, this is not a criticism of Chris' moderation but no-one can be around 24/7 and it would be unreasonable to expect this) So I just wanted to tap into the current thinking about any perceived need for additional moderation in light of recent events. Would moderation help with civility issues and off-topic problems? The two often being related IMO with threads being hijacked. There has also been mention of Audio Professionals being chased out by people being rude if they either dislike them or disagree with them. Would moderation just stifle free expression and make CA a less robust discussion forum?
