I am running roon core on an old NUC i3 and using a MiniDSP SHD studio as the endpoint. I invested in the Uptone ER and some better ethernet cables, the Supra CAT8. It lifted the sound but I am not satisfied. Can I build a streamer/server that sounds as good as the Auralic Aries G 2.1 for around 2000 euro? I am going to connect it to my Doge Audio 7 DAC. I came up with a list of components after watching a video on Youtube and researching what good usb cards that could fit into the cabinet.
