Hi everyone, My basic setup is as follows: Custom built PC with both USB + OPTICAL outs > Arcam rPAC (with an unbalanced RCA passive volume control) > KRK VXT6 active monitors + 10s subwoofer I want to replace my Arcam rPAC and the unbalanced volume control with a DAC which has: balanced XLR outputs, a volume control and optical input. (budget around £350/$500) I'm hoping this will eliminate the noise issue I've been having for ages now. And yes, I've tried endlessly to fix that other ways but to no avail. One I've been looking at is the Matrix Mini-I Pro, however I haven't been able to find any retailers here in the UK which sell it. Any suggestions are very much appreciated! Thanks all.

Hello, I'm thinking it's time for an upgrade. I need your help though. I'm going to use the setup with my computer, but also with a PS4/TV combo. I'm not looking for top of the line audio, as I don't have infinite funds to spend on the system, but I want it to be a noticeable upgrade from my Logitech 2.1 computer speakers. These are what I have picked out right now: KRK RP8G2 Amazon.com: KRK RP8G2 Rokit G2 8In Powered Studio Monitor, Single Monitor: Musical Instruments Onkyo TX-SR313 Amazon.com: Onkyo TX-SR313 5.1-Channel Home Theater A/V Receiver(Black): Electronics BIC America F12 Amazon.com: BIC America F12 12-Inch 475-Watt Front Firing Powered Subwoofer: Electronics The realm of receivers is unknown to me, and I don't know if the 65w output would be adequate for the monitors, but I know it needs to have HDMI so I can connect it to my television and PS4. About the KRK's I've read that they are only good if you are 5 feet from them, which would be a problem if I wanted to sit back and relax on the couch while playing PS4. But they are 150 bucks now because of the new model that're out now. Now, the sub I found in some other forum saying it was the best bang for your buck, and I listen to mostly EDM, and punk rock, plus I'm a sucker for bass. I want to stay around this price range but I was also considering some AudioEngine A4 passive bookshelf speakers. I'm not sure if the active KRK's would be a mess trying to hook up to the receiver. The room I'll be listening in is very small as is my budget. And I want a very dynamic setup to handle both the bass of the EDM but all the mids and highs of vocals. But I'll take any suggestions you are willing to give. I hope you guys can I help me. I have a lot of respect for the forum members here and I will be eternally grateful. Thank you.

Hi All, I'm putting together my home office / listening room sound system. This system will only be used for listening to music. Would greatly appreciate your input on the best way to connect these componets up to get the best sound possible. Here is what I have: * 2012 iMac * Onkyo 7.1 HT System * KRK Rokit8G2 (2 each) * Audioengine D1 DAC Is it possible to connect the KRK's to the iMac and have them work seamlessly with the Onkyo system or are there better ways to connect this system up? Do I need to get additional componets? Thanks!
