I thought I would share how I have solved problems that I have had when converting large, multi-channel .wav files to .flac files as well when trying to merge multiple large multi-channel .flac files into a single one. An example of the first case is converting the last movement of the Mahler 2nd. An example of the second case is creating a single file for the Eine Alpensinfonie in order to allow gap-less playback. In either case, the conversions were either failing or resulting in .flac files with a track length attribute of 0. On my Windows 10 computer, I have being doing the conversions using flac.exe directly and foobar2000. I have been doing the merges using foobar2000. I think the problems were being caused by limitations of the 32bit versions of flac.exe when processing files larger than 2Gb. When I replaced flac.exe and metaflac.exe which resided in C:\Program Files (x86)\FLAC\ with the 64bit versions in flac-1.3.2, both of my problems went away. All conversions also run much faster than before. (My DLNA setup is a ReadyNAS Ultra 6 running ReadyDLNA and Logitech Media Server, BubbleUPnP on an Android tablet and an Oppo UDP-203.)
