Nocturnal - Lute Music from Dowland to Britten Jakob Lindberg New release available now as 24/192 on sale at eclassical. Seems the SACD comes out on July 6th. Lovely end of day listening.

Thanks for this. Since his untimely death, I have unwisely stopped looking for further releases from his trio.

The Final Tour: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 6 A four CD collection from the 1960 world tour. SQ at times falls short of what we have grown accustomed to. Given the historic import of these two artists at this moment in the evolution of modern jazz, I can heed the lesson of the Steppenwolf and delight in the "laughter of the immortals" and not be distracted by any minor shortfalls of the recordings.

A BBC recording of the year, listening in SACD "This beautifully thought-through disc has horn player Alec Frank-Gemmill and pianist Alasdair Beatson playing four different pianos and four different horns, all historically appropriate, in a programme ranging through Rossini, Glazunov, Dukas and more." A Noble & Melancholy Instrument by Alec Frank-Gemill (horn) & Alasdair Beatson (piano)

With a closer look, I see that I have a couple already. I'm sure that even if it is of uneven appeal to me, I could pull together a few "discs" in a compilation of sorts. The concern that gives me pause is the chance that metadata is not available. I dropped a note a few weeks ago to Warner Classics about the absence of album & track info and have yet to hear from them.

Can anyone comment on this latest release from Jordi Savall. Eleven discs for $30! It is not with Alia Vox but rather appears on Warner Classics. Although I have utter confidence in Senor Savall's work, my concern is with Warner Classics. I recently purchased a three disc compilation and discovered when I attempted to "rip" to disc that none of the online databases listed the meta-data. I enjoy tagging but entering all track and disc info by hand for eleven discs is a bridge too far. They appear to be re-releases of previous albums so that may be helpful. The same here. I've enjoyed the work of Jarosz and Watkins but Aoife O'Donovan is new to me. Discovered that "I'm With Her" is come to Seattle soon. A most anticipated event. So, again, thanks for sharing...

After six years of silence, It's delightful to hear the harmony of these voices again - Heather Masse, Nicky Mehta and Ruth Moody. Mostly covers and very much worth a listen... Fifteen by The Wailin' Jennys

... and thanks for the review of Melody Gardot's new release. Although I tend to like her earlier work better, I am looking forward to enjoying this live, two disc album. Live In Europe - Melody Gardot
