    Sonicorbiter - Native DSD support

Ok, cool. What more can you do, if the downstream DAC can only accept PCM over S/PDIF? Also the UltraRendu doesn't always load the profile of the USB connected device, following reboot/boot-up. It has to be unplugged and plugged back in, representing it to the OS - is there anyway of delaying device recognition to avoid this unplugging/reinserting? In addition, the UPnP Bridge has to be restarted on reboot/boot-up also. Now this isn't really a problem, as you soon realise you haven't restarted it - but maybe an additional item for 2.7? All sounding good - however Thanks, Simon.

    Sonicorbiter - Native DSD support

Cool, the UltraRendu now sees an different Altset 2 with Format now “DSD_U32_BE” indicating that the XMOS U8 chipset in the USB->S/PDIF converter can support Native DSD. In changing the DSD mode in the Roon Ready Settings, I see that the formats reported for DSD are both DOP and Native. However makes no difference as the SPDIF input can only take PCM. So any other goodies coming in 2.7?

    Sonore ultraRendu

Hi, Interested to understand what’s in works? thanks, Simom
  4. Now I am using the Pure Silver DC cable available at https://mcru.co.uk/product/mcru-audio-grade-dc-power-cable/?v=d2cb7bbc0d23 between my UltraRendu and UltraCap LPS 1, and sounding wonderful in my Naim NDS with Roon via the Sonore UPnP Bridge. Thanks, Simon

    Sonicorbiter - Native DSD support

Ok, that explains that behaviour, as when set to ‘Native DSD’ the playback stream is still converted to PCM 176.4 What I now need to figure is when set to DoP, the stream is failed to be recognized by the digital input of my NDS. DoP through the UPnP Bridge works fine with the Naim playing the DSD64. So it could be that DSD playback is not possible via the S/PDIF input - question for Naim. Thanks, Simon

    Sonicorbiter - Native DSD support

Hi, Is DSD playback possible with this device? It the USB -> S/PDIF converter from SGC. DAC description: xCORE USB Audio 2.0 20b1:000a
  7. Yes, works well between LPS 1 & UltraRendu, better than stock cable. The UltraRendu with UltraCap 1, running the Sonore UPnP Bridge into my Naim NDS from a Roon Core running ROCK on an Intel NUC5i3, is giving the best sound I have heard from this system. Delighted.

    Sonore ultraRendu

I see that the Roon Ready app in SonicorbiterOS is revised to version 1.1.31, is this just reflecting the Roon RAAT SDK version, 1.1.31? Was there anything new in this version & subsequent release? Thanks, Simon

    micro/ultraRendu - support thread

So, as you create/test a new build and push it to the update servers, could you add it to a page somewhere ideally this forum as your Support channel or the Roon forum, that a new release is available & a comment as to why. Something just as ‘Sonicorbiter 2.5.1 - bug fixes for ...., RoonReady 1.1.29 adds ....’ Thanks, Simon

    micro/ultraRendu - support thread

Hi, I see there was a point release of SonicorbiterOS and also the Roon Ready module during the week, as they were updated within the Update process. Is there any where describing the reason for the release, or any form of Release Notes covering the contents of the update, or Announcement that the update is available? Thanks, Simon

    micro/ultraRendu - support thread

So had a quick question on this. So, is the Roon Endpoint is the Sonore device not able to undertake further unfolding of MQA stream beyond the 1st unfold undertaken in Roon Core? The Sonore device is interfacing between the Roon Core and the DAC, could not it present/emulate the DAC profiles required for the further MQA decoding beyond the 24/96 capabilities for 24/192 encoded material? It would be great if the combination of Roon 1.5 and Sonore products could provide a full MQA decide path, with only the custom DAC filters coming from the individual DAC profile of a compliant MQA DAC, a complete MQA system say with a Meridian system. That would be sweet, and as I understood Sonore’s Press Release from earlier in the year, this is what was going to be delivered. If not, was what was the functionality? Does Roon 1.5 nullify that release? and is there nothing more that Sonore can add to the MQA Playback path? Thanks, Simon
