Popular Post Guidof
Beethoven: String Quartets, op. 18 Nos. 3 & 10. Energetic and nuanced playing by the Quartetto di Cremona. Admirably, the recorded sound is clear and detailed; less admirably, it is also a bit harsh -- both attributes perhaps pointing to very close miking. A 24/96 Qobuz download. rando
The SQ and performance of the Mozart disc at top of this page convinced me to revisit Membran SACD. At this point in time examining yet another version of Symphony 6 is akin to thinking you can tell how well a plow works by the impression it leaves in an equally well tilled field. Link to comment

Beautiful clarity, and refreshing after listening to so many "normal" versions over the years. Battle of the Pathetiques tonight. Dausgaard (above) vs. Semyon Bychkov: Both are excellent! mkrzych
That was my last nite set of listening - all from ECM new releases. All very good, but I like Tord and Trygve. Barre is unique, not for everyone, but as it goes for the single double bass solo it's drawing and captivating - that's big success for such solo album. I like also Invisible Paths, very well played as the Temporary Kings - you see, hard to choose one ;-) Musicophile 1 -- Krzysztof Maj http://mkrzych.wordpress.com/ "Music is the highest form of art.
