Jud, as you mentioned on another thread, the later concertos seem to be particularly inspired. I agree with you there. In fact, for concertos 1-3, I think this one is still my favorite:

Indeed, it's a great album, one of the best actually of CTI's records (at least for me). CTI sometimes is sounds and feels like Jazz, but often it is not. But this record is outstanding. Not surprising when having such a high-powered ensemble playing together. Great choice!

I would recommend at least streaming it for a listen. I particularly like the tempo choices, especially the first movement.

One of the all-time great Eroicas and an excellent remastering job by Sony, taming the steeliness/edginess from previous CD incarnations. (I got the 24/192 download from HDtracks.)
