Musicophile
Good to see this is ongoing again. I would have missed it otherwise. Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment
austinpop
Today this one looks promising. Can't get a listen until tonight, but at $5.84, I may just buy it! My Audio Setup Link to comment

Not too much risk indeed it’s quite nice. Overall when it gets to the Mozart concertos on Fortepiano I have a preference for Bezuidenhout, but this album is worth having especially at this price. Bob Stern
Elgar cello concerto & Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations: truly superb performance by Johannes Moser with Andrew Manze conducting the Suisse Romande Orch. Moser applies a ton of rubato, but it is very thoughtful and captivating. Manze conducts in a mainstream romantic style, notwithstanding his reputation as a baroque specialist. The cello is recorded with a deep, resonant sound. Unfortunately, the orchestra level is too soft relative to the cello, almost being relegated to the background, as in many concerto recordings. Bob Stern
Brahms piano pieces today by Kozhukhin are fantastic. Somewhat slow and very nuanced. HQPlayer (on 3.8 GHz 8-core i7 iMac 2020) > NAA (on 2012 Mac Mini i7) > RME ADI-2 v2 > Benchmark AHB-2 > Thiel 3.7 Link to comment
austinpop
As in past years, it looks like the discounts last for the entire period. So yesterday’s Elgar, for example, is still on sale. I tuned in this year on Dec 6. Does anyone have the list from Dec 1-6? Or remember any of them? My Audio Setup Link to comment
Bob Stern
Another album by cellist Moser: Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev sonatas, Pentatone PTC5186594. I bought it but did not mention it here because it's mostly morose music that I didn’t think would have broad appeal. The pianist is not well known (yet), but he has a superb feel for the Rachmaninoff idiom. Listen to the solo piano that begins the 3rd movement of the Rachmaninoff. Bob Stern
Another cello album, "Overtures", this time by Matt Haimovitz. Pentatone PTC5186561. I only bought two tracks, the pieces by Roberto Sierra and David Sanford. austinpop
I misspoke - the discount only lasts the 24 hours it is offered. The Mosers are now back at regular price. My Audio Setup Link to comment

Also, if you need time to decide if you want an album, you can put it in your cart, and it will remain there at the discounted price (as long as your browser remains logged in) even after the price on the website goes back up.
