Musicophile
FYI, some interesting discounts this week at Qobuz: https://www.qobuz.com/gb-en/search?q=black-week-2018&i=boutique&s=no I ended up buying the three albums below by Harmonia Mundi at -50%, still cheaper than the regular 30%ish discount I get with Sublime. There are many others I can recommend which I already own, e.g. https://musicophilesblog.com/2018/04/09/spring-is-coming-just-the-right-time-for-a-beautiful-vivaldi-album/ https://musicophilesblog.com/2017/12/16/getting-seasonal-again-with-three-beautiful-versions-of-bachs-magnificat/ https://musicophilesblog.com/2018/03/10/bach-mass-in-b-minor-by-william-christie-and-les-arts-florissants-a-review/ https://musicophilesblog.com/2015/07/28/shai-maestro-this-avishai-cohen-alumni-will-go-places/ https://www.qobuz.com/gb-en/album/vivaldi-cello-concertos-jean-guihen-queyras-and-akademie-fur-alte-musik-berlin/3149020209523 https://musicophilesblog.com/2018/05/31/c-p-e-bachs-cello-concertos-by-jean-guihen-queyras-a-review/ Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment
larryb
If you're happy with the Faust-Melnikov collaboration you should (if you haven't already) check out Queyras-Melnikov Beethoven cello/piano sonatas. I heard them in concert in a very intense space in Berlin, and was sufficiently moved that I bought their recording. It does not disappoint. Musicophile 1 larryb Link to comment
semente
I only bought this: And it's the last Harmonia Mundi I'll ever get. Their mic'ing sounds awful... I don’t typically have a problem with the SQ of Harmonia Mundi. However, this particular recording is one of the few Isabelle Faust albums that I don’t care very much about: https://musicophilesblog.com/2017/08/26/isabelle-faust-and-pablo-heras-casado-play-mendelssohn-too-hip/ Check out my blog at musicophilesblog.com - From Keith Jarrett to Johannes Brahms Link to comment

I’m such a huge fan of hers. I finally saw her live in August play the Bach concerts and it was great. rodrigaj
Anyone listen to this: It sound strange to me, but I may be reacting to never having heard a HIP of these sonatas. The Klein/Grummaux pairing has been my goto recording for over 25 years. "The function of music is to release us from the tyranny of conscious thought", Sir Thomas Beecham. Link to comment
