steniacho
Please have your engineering team reconsider which power connectors you offer, on your otherwise excellent audio devices... You guys do amazing engineering/design work, but you give up some quality via the mandatory, USB<>Barrel 4" adapter --> Added impedance, an additional/unnecessary barrel connector, subpar wire/connector quality, etc.. Why not integrate a 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC jack instead, or at least offer alternative soldering pads? For all the signal refinement/optimizations you do; this shortcoming in DC integrity certainly seems sub-optimal. I also don't own a single device with 5.5mm x 2.5mm connector outside of Allo products. I'd wager that if you took a poll, many others might concur. Whew, OK.. /rant I've also been eagerly awaiting the Katana and will be placing my order shortly. FWIW - I'm personally not bothered in the least by the large cap you added, given the constraints you face with this initial launch. Thanks for taking the time to get things right. Cheers, Sten Link to comment

Cheers, Sten I agree with your criticism. That said, these cables https://www.ghentaudio.com/part/dc29.html seem a good alternative to Allo's clumsy chain of adapters. I have placed an order and will be able to report on the Ghent Audio cables hopefully very soon. Link to comment
Solstice380
@steniacho and @nbpf the larger pin connectors (2.5mm) are used for higher power devices. Ghent cables are good quality and reasonably priced. https://audiophilestyle.com/profile/21384-solstice380/?tab=field_core_pfield_3 Link to comment
steniacho
Thanks to @nbpf @Solstice380 for the suggestions. Ghent has some nice options which I'll definitely check out. Prices seem very reasonable given the quality. Mouser lists some 2.1mm connectors which handles up to 7 amps. Heck, even Allo includes 2.5mm to 2.1mm adapters with several products. A quick search on Amazon for "MicroUSB DC plugs" resulted in: 2.5mm - 1 result 2.1mm - 10+ results Hopefully Allo will reconsider a gradual transition to 2.1mm at some point. nbpf 1 Link to comment
