chewynuts
Hi All, I'm looking for a DAC with volume control and variable pre-outs with a remote control. I was previously using a TEAC UD-301 and really like the sound but that model did not have a remote control. I am biased towards Ti/Burr-brown really like their sound. Do not want any ESS sabre based implementations as I simply cannot get used to their sound signature. Budget of $800 and less, prefer preowned if possible Thank you for the advice in advance! duxservit
Here is a handy list of DACs. Many are under $800: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/master-index-for-audio-hardware-reviews.2079/#post-114509 Let every eye ear negotiate for itself and trust no agent. The chipset used is older, but still a fine choice. Wish it offered balanced outputs. I am very a big believer in Marantz S.A.- Sacd disc spinners. Had a S.A.-8260, S.A.-7, and S.A.-11. All were fantastic for their time. This should be a sweet sounding dac. 2012 Mac Mini, i5 - 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM. SSD, PM/PV software, Focusrite Clarett 4Pre 4 channel interface. Daysequerra M4.0X Broadcast monitor., My_Ref Evolution rev a , Klipsch La Scala II, Blue Sky Sub 12 Clarett used as ADC for vinyl rips. Corning Optical Thunderbolt cable used to connect computer to 4Pre. Dac fed by iFi iPower and Noise Trapper isolation transformer. Link to comment
