jabbr
For situations where it is convenient to deploy WiFi around a house, and where it is not convenient to run fiberoptic cables in the walls, the benefits of fiberoptic Ethernet in terms of EMI isolation can still be enjoyed. 1) use a second WiFi router in repeater mode and then connect an FMC to one of the Ethernet ports on the router. The fiber cable can be run to either a direct fiberoptic in DAC such as the Lumin, or a renderer such as the ClearFog. 2) The ClearFog Pro, GT etc can be used as a WiFi router and will have a SFP connection which can run direct fiber to a ClearFog renderer. In these cases there wont be WiFi EMI near the renderer if this is a concern. @Ralf11 does this address your concern? Custom room treatments for headphone users. Link to comment
Ralf11
Sure. But I am an audio cheapskate, so what is the lowest $$ DAC with an optical input? The only one I know of at all is the Lumin. But thank you for starting this thread. Link to comment
