christopher3393
The one thread for all things noseflute: the instrument AND the music. A lot of weight for one thread to bear. "Beyond" is meant to suggest a virtual universe of at least somewhat kindred instruments, playing styles, and musical results ( dare I even mention the ocarina or the xun?). Anticipate a lively discussion! http://nose-flute.blogspot.com/ Link to comment

In other words, we want you to be excited about that which you write because that excitement will shine through in your articles and be of great benefit to the community. Great point! While one doesn't want to indiscriminately embrace all forms with a casual laissez faire attitude, it is crucial to remain open to a wide variety of aesthetic potentials. 4 hours ago, Superdad said: Actually, I would welcome reviews of ANY high-end nose flutes! I have only this entry-level one and have been looking to upgrade: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/folk-traditional-instruments/grover-trophy-humanatones-nose-flute/ Well, as you might expect, Dad (may I call you Dad?) there are differences of opinion on this. Briefly, however, the Bocarino Professional model has a lot of advocates among discerning players: https://www.grothmusic.com/p-12177-bocarina-professional-noseflute.aspx However, in 2016, the Bocarina's creater surfaced with a fresh design! In the further development of the Bocarina Noseflute the labium was optimized extensively. It is the core of the Bocarina Pro and is made of sturdy ABS plastic. Unlike the classic Bocarina, this core is surrounded by a wide, ergonomically shaped, soft and flexible Liloflex (TPE) rim that adapts beautifully to the face's shapes. The range is even greater and the precision of the tones even more accurate than the classic model. https://www.danmoi.com/noseflute-clarytone-bocarina-pro-the-even-better-bocarina.html (picture on right showing both models in a color that approximates red) A more detailed comparison is in order. sphinxsix and Superdad 2 Link to comment
sphinxsix
Khmu. And some other kind of nose flute. The virtuoso player's technique reminds me of Rahsaan Roland Kirk.. christopher3393 1 Link to comment

My experience with nose flutes is absent any additional hardware, usually while asleep. My audience doesn't seem to appreciate the performance that much, I believe it's just not hi-def enough. But I continue to practice. One day I'll get better! christopher3393 1 -Paul DeltaWave, DISTORT, Earful, PKHarmonic, new: Multitone Analyzer Link to comment

Just came upon this thread of yours while eating my breakfast cereal, and milk nearly came out my nose! Guess that would go in the nose fluid thread and note this one on nose flutes. christopher3393 1 UpTone Audio LLC Link to comment
