not sure about jameco, but i got some old linear wall charger to feed LT3045 PSU 

can not find anything inside (only 4 diodes)

That thing is unregulated. Doesn't even have a filter capacitor. Be careful.

You referred to it as linear. It isn't. Maybe you know this, but the statement is still incorrect. Connecting this to something that expects a regulated voltage could result in damage.
