WMW
The Bakoon BPS-02 is a zero-ripple pure DC 5V power source. It runs off two internal 2200mAh Li-ion batteries, one automatically taking over when the other runs out, while the depleted cell is simultaneously charged. The BPS-02 completely cuts off all the noises generated from SMPS and AC wall adaptors. Some computer audiophiles write of sonic improvements when employing separate DC power to SSD's and/or audio USB cards (e.g. JCAT). Replacement batteries if ever needed are inexpensive. The BPS measures 4.7" square and 1.2 inches high. 6moons did a review: http://www.bakoon.com/press/review/bps-02-6moons. From the Bakoon website: http://www.bakoonproducts.com/store/shop/bps-02 My BPS-02 is setup to supply 5v via a 5.5mm barrel-type connector. I will include an adapter and 2 connectors to facilitate connecting to, say, an audio USB card or SSD. (Making a connection to an SSD power connector involves simply soldering the red and black wires of the standard SSD power cable (the other wires are black and yellow) to the connectors I’ve colored red and black. Basic soldering skills required.). My Bakoon has the original box and manual and works perfectly, but I would rate the cosmetics as 6-7/10 (I’m a hard marker). See photos for minor imperfections on case. The BPS-02 listed for around $425 when new. I purchased mine on Audiogon in October, 2015 and paid $325.00. I think a fair price is $200 which will include PayPal fees and shipping (FedEx,UPS or USPS my choice within CONUS only - NO exceptions). Thanks for looking! Link to comment
WMW
I see the identical item recently sold on this forum for the rock bottom price of $150!! One might infer, therefore, I am open to negotiation. Furthermore, I also own the JCAT USB 3.0 card. JCAT sold the Bakoon to power this card. FYI: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0115/JCAT_USB_Card_Battery_Power_Supply_USB_Cable.htm (I never bought the JCAT cable, but I DO own the RAL USB cable which coincidentally is also for sale on this very site!) I might be willing to sell the JCAT + Bakoon if anyone is interested. Note that my JCAT is the card immediately preceding the current JCAT FEMTO card and sold for $415 vs the FEMTO's $515. I have both brackets for the card. Link to comment
RJpennypacker
Any chance you are interested in selling the power supply again. I just order a gefen pro hdmi switch and it has a 5V input. Would probably help with keeping visual/audio fidelity. Link to comment
