beerandmusic
I won't buy another DAC that does not sport a network port and support native DSD...that said, I am just curious if anyone has done the leg work in comparing different network players (DAC w/network port)? I really wanted to limit to $2K, but with introduction of ifi idsd pro at 2500, i raised the budget, although i personally think i will wait until something comes along under $2k, unless there is SUBSTANTIAL benefit, to one slightly more than $2k. Right now, the only current products I know of are: Auralic Altair (LPS, ultra low noise clocks) Lumin D2 (great reviews) TEAC NT505 (AK chips) IFI iDSD pro (new?) Marantz ND8006 (heos, older DAC chips, supports turning off circuits not in use, very low price) Oppo (not in consideration anymore, out of business) The Auralic seems to be the current winner because it has both LPS and marketed ultra low noise clocks....the thing holding me back is it's requirement of APPLE. Has anyone done any legwork in comparing these products, and can offer any pro's and cons of one over the other or know of any other products that foot the bill? Link to comment
