Obviously a sonicTransporter is involved but what else? Does this mean we can soon output any PC/Mac audio into the sonicTransporter and send audio to the other end of the house to a Rendu? A Sonore/SGC "Virtual Sound Card" on PC/Mac, playing to the sonicTransporter? Link to comment
vortecjr
Q: So in terms of physical hardware what does this involve? A: Just a sonicTransporter Q: Obviously a sonicTransporter is involved but what else? A: Recently updated:) Q:Does this mean we can soon output any PC/Mac audio into the sonicTransporter and send audio to the other end of the house to a Rendu? A: No. The sonicTransporter will output from it's player to any Merging AES67 capable gear. The Sonore Rendu will not be involved in the stream at all because the Merging device has network input. Q: A Sonore/SGC "Virtual Sound Card" on PC/Mac, playing to the sonicTransporter? A: No. The Virtual Sound Card will be on the sonicTransporter. asdf1000 1 SONORE computer audio | opticalRendu | ultraRendu | microRendu | Signature Rendu SE | endPoint | opticalModule DX | Power Supplies | Link to comment

So it needs a sonicTransporter and Merging AES67 capable gear. The last part wasn't obvious but it's clearer now. Link to comment
vortecjr
Merging was nice enough to send a Nadac to us for testing...should have some feedback soon. Jørgen Skadhauge
I have a 4ch active setup. I need a software in the player/transporter to do x-overs ..... Are we looking at a windows based sonicTransporter where one could use the new Audirvana Plus containing convolver files? I have for more than half a year been looking at Merging Hapi.........although being happy(sorry) with a mR and a RME adi2 pro dac. Link to comment
vortecjr
This thread is about the Linux version of sonicTransporter, but no worries. SONORE computer audio | opticalRendu | ultraRendu | microRendu | Signature Rendu SE | endPoint | opticalModule DX | Power Supplies | Link to comment
