Popular Post christopher3393
https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/thats-itim-out One of my favorite headphone journalists. Actually one of my favorite audio journalists period. Great combination of objectivity and subjectivity in reviews. Down-to-earth guy, no b.s., and yet slow to anger and quite amiable, so a nice personal touch to his approach. I'll miss him. Tyll doesn't name his successor, but looks like Inner Fidelity will continue. Reasons for retirement stated plainly in article. He has converted a van into a tiny home on wheels and so he will live nomadically on the road. Bona ventura, Tyll. SuperRoo and beetlemania 2 Link to comment
WAM
+1, well spoken. I liked his reviews. Great guy (awful Hawaii-shirts). Link to comment
Popular Post Nordkapp
After so so many frequent changes to his WOF and suddenly turning on his prior recommendations at a whim, I became less trusting of his recommendations. Not to mention his unabashedly absurd take down of the Z1R. And his measurements were suspect too-Jude proved that. Regardless, the man did do a lot to legitimize HP listening with audiophile mainstream. buonassi and Summit 2 Link to comment
exdmd
I agree with @Nordkapp ... the WOF could no longer be trusted and he ignored some of the new tube amp makers like Amps & Sound that are strong competitors to Eddie Current. He also admitted his ears are going and he is burnt out. Remains to be seen how InnerFidelity will change under new leadership. Link to comment
Popular Post TubeLover
Tyll is indeed a great guy. I have had the pleasure to know him, over the years, and once even visited him, with friends, in Montana years back. He has forgotten more about headphones than most so called experts know. He is hugely responsible for the currently vast headphone market, and the owners of that gear going all the way back to when he founded the first major headphone and headphone amplifier company, Headroom. He was so far ahead of the curve it's almost unimaginable now, even up to the point of designing, manufacturing and marketing top notch headphone amplification when such things were in their infancy. Best of luck Tyll. You will be missed! JC Middy, sete and asdf1000 1 2 Link to comment
Middy
+1 He took me from free in ear buds to worrying about power supplys here on CA. A tricked out Qutest headAmp combo with The Mr speakers Ether flow with latest filter mod. A long journey but he was the trusted place to go and a Switzerland neutrality for opposing sides of audio. History and wide influence I can't see ever being matched. WOF was never perfect for all but driving industry changes we now take for granted. And..i just really liked the guy. I can only thank him and wish him well... Dave christopher3393 1 Link to comment
