Damn!  Is their ad copy being written by Neil Young?

Surely the forum usuals must have a perspective on this.  What say you, Brinkman Ship?  How did you let this pass?

FYI, prices in EUR:

first year discounted: €199, afterwards €249, so a bit cheaper than Qobuz Sublime +. I don't think they have the same catalog size as Qobuz though.

Note that this is already integrated in Audirvana+, I already used to use A+ for streaming files that I had purchased at HRA. So I presume the full streaming function should work as well.

I'll give the free month a trial.

Looking at the price of individual album downloads, like this one, their package deal seems a fair deal:

The Mountain soundtrack is already on my list. Tidal has the redbook version which is excellent demo material, and not interested to spend any money into DRM'ed files like MQA.

So if more services like Qobuz and HRA are coming out with lossless non-DRM hires it will be the end of the lossy 17/96 pseudo hires format.

Apparently I’m to stupid to edit my post. What I meant to speak about is the free WEEK not month.

I always like the fully tested part. Do you think it will create any buzz in Munich this week?

So I just signed up for the one week trial.

It's a bit confusing during setup, you have to search around a bit for the site to find the player software. Then the software isn't done by a Mac certified developer so you have to get to some minor security changes.

Now it's playing (starting randomly with Sophie Pacini "In Between"), and my DAC confirms receiving 96khz.

So far so good. I'll see a bit more how convenient the streaming app is, it looks fine so far.

However, my big downside is that HRA streaming doesn't integrate with Audirvana yet, unlike Qobuz and Tidal, so far I still can only access my HRA purchased titles through the separate HRA file vault in A+, but nothing else of the streaming catalog. Therefore, no Iphone remote either. That's a bummer.

Tomorrow I'll have some more time and will do some critical listening of the same highres album streamed from Qobuz/Audirvana plus vs. HRA with their own app, and see how much catalog is out there at HRA.

Thanks a lot for detailing your experience. Very much appreciated. I believe Audirvana integration is forthcoming..?

Look forward to your reports.

I'd hope so, in a press release they stated their partnership with Audirvana is maintained. I presume Damien is quite busy with the Windows version, the bottleneck may well be on his side.
