semente
I've not listened to many but of those that I have I'd say one of these two: graham 1 "Science draws the wave, poetry fills it with water" Teixeira de Pascoaes HQPlayer Desktop / Mac mini → Intona 7054 → RME ADI-2 DAC FS (DSD256) Link to comment

Popular Post rando
I'm showing my limited scope and habit of collecting near home. It is a modern high resolution recording of good quality even if the playing is deemed unvollkommen. coot and austinpop 1 1 Link to comment

I very much like Andsnes and have recommended his box many times, including here: https://musicophilesblog.com/2015/11/29/my-top-5-classical-albums-of-2015/ However, on no. 5 in particular I’m still thinking it could use a bit more power. Same goes for Sudbin above, which I also like a lot. I still haven’t found my ultimate version for it. Worth doing some comparatives listening so I’ll report back. NB. I have the Gilels and Arrau mentioned above as well, both are obviously Beethoven legends. I still need to check out ABM. cgiammona
I have now listened to both the Gilels and Ashkenazy versions and both are very good. Ashkenazy has tremendous power in his playing that matches the style of the conductor very well.
