USB Mic

Have a question regarding the use of any usb mic for sound measurement. I've read much about the noise generated by ANY usb port. How then is it possible to obtain any accurate measurement in any software package. If the port itself is generating noise?.

Microphones used for speaker/room measurements typically have self-noise far higher than anything originating in the USB interface, and the signal you're measuring is many dB stronger still. If you were doing precision measurements of very weak sounds, you'd need some other type of equipment.
