ATH-AD900X's are only 38 ohms?

I'm looking for some ATH-AD900X's and I can only find 38 ohm versions. Now I don't know crap about audio but isn't 38 ohms weak? My brother has ATH-AD700X's that are 250 ohms and so are my DT770 Pro's.

 

Am I being dumb? Am I just not seeing the 250 ohm version?

Without digging too deep, the design should mean only that you'll get best results when matching the headphone to the right amp.  The higher impedance for desktop amps and lower impedance for portable gear is the general rule, and the general rule is that the output impedance of the portable amp is extremely low.  But since the AD700x is a well-known headphone, a search for reviews should give good advice about what amp or music player works best with it.

That's all I see.  But be careful where you buy it - authorized dealer only, otherwise you can get a fake that looks very real, but won't sound as good.
