I haven't experienced any such drama with the stock iGalvanic 3.0 cables, the system works, but cabling does affect the SQ, subjectively. It's possible there was a bad batch (or source) of cables that iFI has subsequently sorted. I bought mine the day the iGalvanic was released. The diameter of the supplied USB3 cable struck me as being substantially smaller than USB3 cables I'm used to seeing. There was some mention of crap supplied cables in the iGalvanic thread over at Head-Fi (but can't find the actual post just now). Link to comment
marce
Possible higher resistance on the 5v and 0V cable, voltage drop so extra current draw, extra power loss, with it being smaller diameter cable. Link to comment
