Tristy
I’ve got a MacBook pro 2013 model. The optical out has died on it for some reason, I was using this with iTunes and BitPerfect to play music through my Arcam amp. As the optical no longer works I have to resort to buying an external DAC, money I havent got at the moment. I realised that my MacBook pro has HDMI out. But when I play music via iTunes, the amp shows its receivng 7.1 channel 96khz audio, but the audio files Im playing range from standard 16bit 44.1khz to 24bit 196khz files. Optical out with bitperfect would send the right stream to the amp. But it looks like HDMI isnt bitperfect so to speak! Anyone had experience and know a fix for this? Thanks Link to comment
mjb
Visit the Audio Midi Setup app, and check the HDMI output format for your amp. Link to comment
