Setting up Intel Skull Canyon for HQPlayer and Roon

Hi all, apologies if this has already been covered, but I recently set up my Skull Canyon NUC. It is intel i7 quad core, 32GB RAM, Windows10. My music is on a MyCloud NAS connected by CAT6 Ethernet cable. I use MicroRendu as NAA into my Mytek Brooklyn DAC. I'm trying to convert PCM/DSD to DSD256. I don't even get a couple seconds into a song before I get skipping and dropouts. I'm wracking my brain trying to troubleshoot. Nothing has improved this issue. I'm hoping someone here can help.

You need to break down the setup first into most simple one, and then gradually proceed from there.

So first connect your DAC directly to the NUC and have some content locally. Then make the playback work standalone with HQPlayer from local files - without Roon (if you use it). Then in case you use Roon, you can add Roon to the picture. Then switch over to remote content. And as a last step add NAA. This way you can see which step makes things break and it is much easier to troubleshoot.
