Is there a reason why you do not use a specialist programme like EAC, dbPowerAmp or XLD for ripping, and something like kid for editing specific files? For peace of mind I use XLD for ripping Classical music and Jazz (iTunes is good enough for rock, etchnical and soundtracks as all tracks I tested with XLD proved Accurately Ripped). For tagging I use iTunes, manually for Classical, iTunes auto retrieve for the rest, with Artwork added manually for all tracks. What are the benefits of using Kid3 over iTunes? Not much, I guess if you only use m4a (AAC or ALAC) and aif files, or even mp3. The main advantage I see for kid3 is that it can read and write a variety of file formats, including FLAC, WAV and DSF. Also, it is not really tied to Apple for your source of album data, and can read from many sources and such. semente 1 The road to Hell is paved with good intentions... Link to comment

Artist, album, year is all I really care about, minor edits done manually, and add my own high quality art. I have XLD on my computer, but don't need the extra complication with all the settings options and worry over whether I've got them all correct. Link to comment
