crazysmurf
Hi, Audirvana is crashing for me when I launch it. I couldn't even get to the Trail License key dialog. Tried rebooting my mac and relaunch. No go. I have installed it over v2, so not sure if that might have anything to do with it. Sorry if this has been asked/adressed, as I have tried searching the forums before posting a new topic but couldn't find anything related. Link to comment
crazysmurf
Just realized I posted this in the wrong forum.. (I thought I was on the Audirvana.com's forum). Any help is still appreciated, but I'll be hopping over there and re-post. Link to comment

If you have Playlists that are important export them first to desktop and save them in a folder... when A+ is reset, you can re-import them back. sadly to this day, the folders they were in is not back, you have to do it again... Before doing this, maybe you should not connect after deleting those files to Roon or others... install A+ alone with your database... if working, log to Roon or else after Apple hide the Home Folder in User Library at some time depending on OS System... When you have clicked your Home Folder, and cannot see the Library Folder in there, just do a ''cmd J'' to show the folder settings preferences and see at the bottom... click Show Library Folder and then you'll have access to the rest forever Starting for new A+: Go to the main Library Folder... PrivilegedHelperTools folder... Trash All the files in that folder (that folder install SysOptimizer) Go to the main Library Folder...LaunchDaemons folder... Trash All the files in that folder for Audirvana (SystemOptimizer and prefs files) Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Applications Support... Audirvana Folder... Trash All the files in that folder (that is your database of music, back it up!) Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Preferences... trash com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus.plist in that folder (those are A+ software preferences) Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Caches… com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus trash the files in that folder Restart MAC just to be sure... This will reset pretty much Audirvana like new. When choosing library at first it will sync in top right main window under the logo... LET IT GO, even better don't try to adjust windows or edit files, even playing music while it is not finished... you'll see the progress bar going... Could be long the first time depending on how large your library is, and MAC is fast or not... go to sleep... then see If You Got Ears, You Gotta Listen – Captain Beefheart MacMini 2018, 4xi3 3.6GHz, SSD, 20Gb, macOS Sonoma > Audirvana Origin > Wyred DAC2 DSD Special Edition > Proceed AMP2 > Focal Cobalt 826 Signature Series > Audirvana Remote > iPhone 13 Link to comment
crazysmurf
Thanks RHS! yeah. I saw your recommendation above on another thread, but hesitant to try it yet (aka lazy... lol). So the testing I've done so far (without "resetting" A+): 1. v2.6.5 - works fine 2. install 3.0.6 on top. - crash 3. re-install 2.6.5 on top (drag&replace) - works fine 4. install 3.0.6 again on top - crash 5. install 2.6.5 on top - working fine I'll try your resetting technique this weekend, as i'm a playlist-crazy person and got tons of playlist that i would like to keep.... Just don't trash them and put them in folders apart to put them back like today if it doesn't work like you want... must be the music library of A+ that is f*uck between v2 and 3. crazysmurf
Probably, and hopefully... as I have tons of smart playlist (being lazy and rely on dropping a song in a folder and A+ picks it up by itself). I'm also thinking maybe I should try to install v3 on a diff mac to see if problem follows. Thanks for the pointers and ideas! Link to comment
wgscott
Another option is to create a new user account and see if it opens in that. If so, you know it will be a corrupted file or something that is unique to the original user account. Another thing to try is to delete the preferences plist file in ~/Library/Preferences Link to comment
miguelito
Had this issue. Deleting the database and starting from scratch worked for me. The developer responded over at the A+ forums so i'll see what he find. (too lazy to start over) Link to comment

RunHomeSlow
Takes less time to delete database only, than responding here... Go to User... Home Folder... Library... Applications Support... Audirvana Folder...Trash All the files in that folder or back it up somewhere then trash them form there and restart. (you won't lose your playlists). crazysmurf
So... figured out the issue. Damien pointed out that there's an AppleScript event that caused the crash and sure enough, I have a script that monitors A+ and extract track and other data to be displayed on my desktop, and that's causing the crash. Killing my script fixes the issue. So the issue was mine all along. Thanks to all who gave me ideas and tips! As that helped to rule out quite a few things along the way. Link to comment
