Popular Post The Computer Audiophile
Hi Guys - The Munich High End show starts Thursday, May 18, 2017. I'm leaving for the show tomorrow (Tuesday) and can't wait to get there. This show is the Super Bowl of audio and is really fun. Yes there are many rooms with stuffy people working there and terrible music, but the vast majority of this show is awesome. Many announcements will be made and new products debuted. I also look forward to meeting many CA readers. I obviously can't cover a show this large by myself. I can't wait to read what everyone else discovers at the show. I'll try to post updates in the thread throughout each day. Hopefully others will do the same. GregWormald
I'd love to go--but it's a bit far from here (Adelaide, Australia). I understand that the maker of my active speakers (SGR) will be there. Stuart has recently developed a current drive amp/speaker package and upgraded my CF4X to the new configuration. They are on the truck back to me as I write. Have a listen if you can. Superdad
If they are allowed to use it (rigid show rules about brands), the Audiopax/Sound Galleries room will have an ISO REGEN/UltraCap LPS-1 on hand. UpTone Audio LLC Link to comment

Yet another thing that's frustrating about the industry. The politics of using certain equipment at shows. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment

monteverdi
Too bad I will be there only on Friday. At least less crowds than on Saturday! Link to comment
#Yoda#
Saturday will be very crowded this year because of the lousy weather forecast. Beside the trade visitor day on Thursday, I prefer Friday anyway and perhaps Saturday afternoon at external events like e. g. B&M or the completive HiFiDeluxe show at the Marriott Hotel nearby. The Computer Audiophile
Mytek Brooklyn AMP Makes Class-D Relevant Munich Munich HIGHEND: Hall 2 E08 Munich HIGHEND, May 18, 2017 — When on a roll, why not push on, the “High-Res Specialists from New York” must have thought… Following the Munich announcement of the pre-ordering of the CLEF, their new mobile USB/DAC/AMP with MQA, Mytek has come up with a revolutionary Class-D design for their newest amplifier, aptly called the Brooklyn AMP, which they will introduce during Munich HIGH END 2017. Like the name suggests, the Brooklyn AMP will join their renowned Brooklyn DAC and shares its visual design. Mytek engineers built the AMP after endlessly listening, soldering, substituting components, computing — and even more listening — before they gave their stamp of approval on the final version of the Brooklyn AMP. The name is aptly chosen because the Brooklyn AMP fits in the same housing as the DAC, albeit with an inch of extra depth. It will be available in the same silver and black finishes as the Brooklyn DAC. Apart from its elegant looks, the Brooklyn AMP produces 2 x 300 Watts of output power at 8 ohms and drives even the most difficult of loudspeakers with ease. Mytek claims of having created a “triode Class-A sounding Class-D” design which will make the Brooklyn AMP relevant for Audiophiles worldwide. The expected retail price of the Brooklyn AMP is 1.995 Euro/$ and delivery will start mid-summer 2017. Much more to come about this one. P.S. The price won't be crazy, I'm told. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
