The ultraRendu remains as an Ethernet input and USB Audio output, but all the connectors are now located on the rear of the unit for easy cable routing.

so... no joy for those who prefer an USB hard apter? :(

Seeing the ultraRendu next to the UltraCAP leaves me wanting to combine them in a nicer way. As such, I have an idea for a custom faceplate that allows you to mount both and have them look as one in your audio rack. Please provide feedback here so I can gauge interest in it.

A custom, high quality DC cable (without the insane Cardas premium) would go along great with this idea.

I do think we would either need to have a similar custom back plate made or that a small brace/bridge piece be made to join the two cases at the back.

That thought did occur to me as well - in the end I expect it would come down to the difference between making the front plate strong enough to avoid problems and the cost of making a front plate out of standard material as well as something to support the back.  For the rest of us, there's duct tape ;)

I would be interested in having more contextual info about this "Insane Cardas premium". Are you referring to the Sonore DC-4 ?

Regards

Yes.

make it so it also carries DC power with no need for a cable ;)
