Great Video in a Single Take

Recommended Posts

That was awesome!  What a great concept.  Musicians, not auto-tune or 1,000 sample tracks. Simplicity at its best.

A good, minimalist direction/camera work well coresponding with music! I didn't know Anderson directed Fiona Apple videos, gotta check them out.

Off topic: there were two single shot feature films I heard of :

'Victoria'  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4226388/

and 'Russsian Ark' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318034/?ref_=tt_trv_trv

I haven't seen 'Russian Ark' yet but I can recommend 'Victoria' - it's quite a good movie. 134 minutes - one single continuous shot (!)

BTW - both were to be filmed only three times. In the case of both films this succeeded with the third, and last, take. Simply - third time lucky!

That's a good clip. There's an art to using a single camera and planning the take so as to be in the right place at the right time for each part of the track. It reminds me of this (almost 30 years ago, how time flies):

The forum would be a much better place if everyone were less convinced of how right they were.
