The new M5 looks interesting. Ethernet to AES S/PDIF USB.  Upnp now, Roon Ready coming. About $2,000

It's my understanding Bricasti will offer M1 owners and upgrade board for $1000. Basically, install M5 functionality into the M1. Hopefully, Roon ready happens soon.

Bricasti will be demoing at our club meeting in June. I will report back.

Any updates on this? I am specifically interested to learn more about the embedding M5 functionality in the M1.

Heard back from Bricasti. Internal network card addition is $1,500... Making an m1 Roon ready. Has anyone heard the m5?

Hrrrrm, the price increase now puts this device a little further outside my tolerance level for such a box. I was dancing with the idea of getting one but this news gives me pause.

 

I guess the inclusion of ROON Ready has now tacked on additional expense somehow? I wont rule it out fully yet but now this does pit the product within spitting distance of other known good alternatives.
