Shredder
Morning. I just received my Lampizator Atlantic DAC (very very excited). DSD only up to 512. Running Roon and HQP on a Sonictransporter for HQP server (i7, quad core, etc.) direct into dac by usb. After some fiddling with settings, I have the dac playing dsd 256 beautifully with Roon's dsp. My understanding, however, is that this dac sounds best playing 512 with HQP and its polysinc filter. After no small amount of playing with the settings, I cannot get it to play. Can someone let me know where I am likely having problems? Or, send me a screen shot of the proper settings? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Link to comment
bibo01
Forget Roon for the moment and try to have HQPlayer playback at DSD512 on its own. In Settings select ASIO and your DAC, and set SDM to "none". From Explorer drag a song in your In the main playback window; then, from the 4 drop-down menus select: poly-sinc, DSD7 256, 44.1k x512, SDM. What do you get? How curious are you? Link to comment
bibo01
You are using and old version of HQPlayer. You can DL the newer one. Buffer set it to Default and SDM Bitrate set it to 22579200. However, you can do it manually with the settings I suggested in my previous post. How curious are you? Link to comment
Solstice380
In settings, change the SDM Defaults Bit Rate Limit to 24xxxxx for 48 x 512. The Lampi 512 module will do both 44 and 48 x 512 rates. I have the Golden Atlantic with the 512 module. ? https://audiophilestyle.com/profile/21384-solstice380/?tab=field_core_pfield_3 Link to comment
Shredder
Still no sound. I assume that I leave dsdp engine off on Roon? Link to comment
Shredder
BTW, Lampi says that my dac will not play 48 only 44.1 Link to comment
Shredder
OK, I enabled dip engine in Roon and it is playing 512. Link to comment
Shredder
OK, it is playing 512 but it does not sound right. Speed of music goes faster and slower, in then out. Any idea what settings I need to adjust? My server is powerful enough for this. Thanks for the help. Link to comment
Shredder
Going to 5th order modulator has helped has enabling Parallelizer (or whatever). I had assumed that the dip engine was the Roon dsp engine not the HQP one. Oh well. Thanks for the help. If anyone has any other tweak suggestions, let me know. Link to comment

Have you tried using HQPlayer alone to try and play something? Start simple and take Roon out of the picture so you can get HQPlayer working reliably first. Shredder
Success. It is up and running. HQP through Roon and sounding great. Thanks much for the help. With computer audio (and me), it is always something. Link to comment
Solstice380
About the 44 / 48 thing, I believe that if you have the Lampi 512 module it will do both. I do not know if you need to have the additional Super Clock or not. I have both Super Clocks and, as expected, can play both 44 and 48 at 512. Others may know if it can play 48 x 512 without the Super Clock. (Meaning there may be a standard 48 clock in your unit. I don't know for sure.) https://audiophilestyle.com/profile/21384-solstice380/?tab=field_core_pfield_3 Link to comment
Shredder
I have the dsd super clock. Is there an advantage to 48 over 44? Link to comment
Solstice380
Some people find that when upsampling, keeping the rate - not converting 44 to a 48 multiple and vice versa - sounds better. Others find their system is best at one or the other 22 or 24 MHz for DSD512. If you want to keep integer multiples then you can check Auto Rate Family in settings. https://audiophilestyle.com/profile/21384-solstice380/?tab=field_core_pfield_3 Link to comment
