Looking For Speaker Stands

Recommended Posts

If you're seeking adjustability, I have these with Dyn M20s mounted, and they are fantastic:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FZ1362S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Oh, and be wary about some of the other telescoping stands, they rarely support greater than 20lbs per side.

I'd stay away from these unless you have 1lb speakers. I have JBL LSR305s on them and they are wobbly. THese are a case of either paid reviews, or consumers with very low standards: https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Adjustable-Height-Satellite-Speaker/dp/B000VRREPG/ref=pd_sbs_23_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000VRREPG&pd_rd_r=F36ADS28NYM0FKJT58FA&pd_rd_w=aTYQ6&pd_rd_wg=1JRXa&psc=1&refRID=F36ADS28NYM0FKJT58FA

Crap, I was looking at buying them. Well, anything else worth mentioning from Amazon?

I bought the following stands + top adapters for my JBL SLR305s (also perfect for KEF LS50s): Vonyx 180553 compact speaker stands (adjustable height 65-135cm, top diameter 35mm, max load 20kg) + 2 x DAP Audio 35mm Outer Adapter (I stuck Toolcraft PD2204C self-adhesive circular rubber feet on the corners). This is great quality stuff, much cheaper, portable and more stable and rigid than conventional speaker stands. If you don't mind the functional looks:

Very nice! :) I use the smallest Vonyx stand (max height 135cm) and the rubber pads are for acoustically isolating speakers and stands. ;) Do you normally play the JBLs at that height?

If you look lower you will see my Paradigm Active 40's sitting on Mapleshade Bedrock stands and then the Active Center Channel in the middle. The speakers perched on the high stands are Paradigm Active 20's. part of an immersive Auro 3D layout.

Here is the back of the room. The speaker above the sofa pointing down is the Voice of God channel. The other speakers are rear surrounds and rear heights. Your JBL's would make an awesome active home theater. I have seen some recording studios do immersive mixing and demos using that exact setup with the 308's as bed channels and the 305's as height channels.
JBL also offers a matching sub for around $400.
