bodiebill
Question to Fryderyk, triggered by a discussion in another thread: How difficult would it be to make wtfplay work with ssh? It would mean having to use LAN, but on the other hand, the mouse, keyboard and monitor (HDMI) could be detached and I would expect the sound to benefit from that. audio system Link to comment
frd__
@bodiebill: It would not be difficult. It's on my todo list, however it was never under the focus. Link to comment

serendipitydawg
I can't believe I'm the first to post in 2018! Any news of further versions of this wonderful software? " The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance--it is the illusion of knowledge." Daniel.J.Boorstin Link to comment
Blawre
Is there, or can there be a version for use with the Rasberry Pi? Link to comment
frd__
Hi there, Last couple of months have been quite demanding for me. I had to look after a couple of other things and had very little time to to work on wtfplay. Now I can see that situation is slowly going back to normal and come back to my normal routine. In terms of RPi question: the answer for today is: I do not know. I December last year I purchased this baby: http://www.hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G150229074080 and started porting wtfplay-live for it. I will report the progress. I've a question about gapless playout ... Based on your experience what's the easier way (and less sound impacting) to implement gapless for DSD? I mean, is it better to go through the load of single dsf/dff tracks one after another or loading a full .ISO image in dram could be the way (considering at least 8/16GB available). Have a nice day. frd__
@Ipoci: I am at the opinion that loading full ISO/album/files into a single memory block and then playing it back would be a better solution. Link to comment

Qhwoeprktiyns
A short summary (in French) of my (very positive) conclusions concerning Wtfplayer: http://forum-hifi.fr/thread-7396-post-147047.html#pid147047 Link to comment
Qhwoeprktiyns
I have a few suggestions: - have the option of launching wtfcui automatically This would avoid typing the command and allow using more easily one of those small programmable keyboards mentioned earlier in the thread. The option could be stored on the boot drive as with the other settings. - the option of automatically adding to the playlist all the files on a given drive (working through all folders on the drive) could also be really convenient as this means you could actually boot up your computer and just use one key to start the music and stop it. I believe with this a screen would not be needed in most listening situations. - would it be possible to have a key to completely erase the playlist (unless I am mistaken the files can only be removed one by one)? As of now, if I wanted to avoid connecting a screen to launch a playlist I could load a drive (USB) with a bunch of tracks on the root directory, the boot my pc, type blindly "wtfcui" to launch the gui, hit enter to select the drive, type shift+a to select all tracks, then tab to move to the playlist and enter to start playing. Doable... That's it. Truly excellent work and two thumbs up to frd_ Link to comment

arglebargle
A version with SSH capability would be so great. Hope it’s still a possibility when time permits! Link to comment
serendipitydawg
I confess; I am totally beguiled by wtfplay. It confounds my innate scepticism that mere software can improve sound With no changes whatsoever to my hifi. Anyone still using it? tonerei
Yes using it on both systems. SDPlayer appears to be gaining traction and at a few listening sessions people have preferred the SDplayer. Too much of a pita for me. Link to comment
