sz_abel
Hi everybody! I would like to buy a sound card for my system, and I can't decide which woud be the better choice: ESI Juli@ XTe or Asus Xonar Essence STX II. My equipement: Xindak DAC-5 DAC Parasound P3 preamplifier Parasound A21 power amplifier biwired by Audioquest Rocket 33 speaker cables Vandersteen 2Ce loudspeakers I would like to listen lossless audio files using Foobar2000 in bit perfect audio mode and I would like to use the S/PDIF output on sound card to deliver the signal to the DAC. Which sound card would you recommend? Thanks for your help! Link to comment
Audio_ELF
Neither, I would recommend an external USB to SPDIF converter. Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment

Audio_ELF
Thank you for your quick response! What do you think about M2TECH hiFace Evo? It will be a good choice? The issue with the original HiFace Evo is that it relies on drivers which M2Tech have to create themselves. The second generation HiFace Evo uses a more standard USB Audio Core 2.0 driver.
