Piano60
I tried the brand new OS with several DSD files. I use Audirvana as my Mac player. I used to have a Chord DAC that played them flawlessly. Now, the volume of any file is unstable, ranging at will from loud to soft. Changing the volume control introduces distortion momentarily as well. non DSD files all work well. Any suggestions will be much appreciated Link to comment

Piano60
Thanks. But Audirvana 2 does that automatically. The rest of my applicable preference window is as follows. Anything untoward you can see? Active Audio Device: all sample rates to 192. DSD 64 and 128 are visible, but grey. Automatic Native DSD Capability 64bit Multistage SDS-PCM Algorithm with boost of 6db Low level Playback options: Exclusive access mode, use max i/o buffer, integer mode. Not direct mode. Piano60
Everything fixed. Thanks for your interest, and thanks to the anonymous friend who set me straight. Note to myself: Reboot your computer every now and then, especially after making major setting changes to an app. Devialet uses the DoP protocol for DSD (DSD over PCM), as opposed to Native DSD playback. Audirvana has a DoP option that you can select for DSD instead of Native. After doing this, reboot. Link to comment
