maikeru
I have an Oppo BDP-105D but am looking at the Lumin D1. This unit is less than $2,000 when bought in HK. Anyone done a comparison of any Lumin against the Oppo for streaming both red book quality and/or DSD downloads? Best, Michael Link to comment
hcalland
Go with the Lumin. You'll never look back. I own a Lumin A1 and it's a game changer. All my digital worries about "this server and that DAC" are over. Link to comment
mav52
I own the 105D and the D1 ad the A1. Lumin all the way. The Truth Is Out There Link to comment
TubeLover
+1, go with the Lumin, it's not even close. Link to comment
maikeru
Haha - thank you for the replies. I actually posted that just over a year ago and in the absence of guidance decided to leave take the plunge and buy a D1. My thoughts compared to the OPPO 105D and also the OPPO 93 nuforce extreme?: WOW. Best digital ever. Sold the OPPO and all disk media. No regrets. Link to comment
hcalland
Congrats on a fine digital music server. I sold my SACD player as well; because, why bother? Link to comment
maikeru
I do miss a few of those SHM-SACD recordings, mind you. But the LUMIN is unquestionably superior with the same files - hi-rez or Redbook. My system is he most "unfussy" it's been in years - just an ARC tube amp, the Lumin, and some Vandersteens. May never upgrade again (please be so!). Link to comment

I am of the same belief with regards to my digital music. I thought about an external DAC, but those Wolfsons in the Lumin sound so good I don't see the need. I still maintain a fascination for all things vinyl however, and still collect vinyl and maintain two turntables. Link to comment
