I contacted XiVero about lowpass filtering and the answered that they use an 50 kHz ultrasonic filter for DSD64 conversions, but no filtering for higher DSD resolutions because of their much lower noise floor.

Yes, you see it far right in the frequency spectrum of your graphs (also in mansr DSD enhanced SoX).

Question is what happens with the sharp rise of noise above 30kHz (characteristic of DSD64).

If the noise is simply transmitted to the PCM file it depends on the system whether or not it can cause intermodulation distortion.

But since it's only quantization noise anyway it can be be filtered out in DSD64 to PCM conversions without affecting the actual music content... so this would be a better ("safer") approach IMHO.

Looks like crash bug still exists in the AuI ConverteR v.6.5.10. Now stable version 6.4.7 online as primary.

Version 6.5 have big changes of internal structure for future development and new hard for diagnostics bugs appear.

Currently I look for ways to create the crash at test computers.

Can your software convert a DSF 5.1 album to DSF 2.0 (Stereo)?

If your DSF album came from an SACD rip likely the 2 channel layer is on the ISO as well.  What album?

Yes. It can downmix 5.1 to stereo http://samplerateconverter.com/tutorials/how-downmix-51-stereo

It can PROduce-RD edition and Modula-R in some configurations.

Unfortunately, I do not have the SACD ISO for this album, only the 5.1 DSF file. if I had the ISO, I wouldn't need to convert 5.1 to 2.0, I could just use ISO2DSD from the ISO to convert to DSF Stereo.

Thanks, I did see that online, unfortunately, The $249.99 USD cost of the PROduce-RD version is a little expensive just to convert 1 album (I'm sure I could find some other uses for the software, but overall, I use ISO2DSD and dbPoweramp and 99% of the time they provide me with everything that I need to convert SACD ISO's and to tag and Meta data/ album art for DSF files).

Thank you!

Yes. It have no sense for 1 album. Though, PROduce-RD have other base price ;)

Minimal configuration for such functionality is Modula-R (DSF, DFF (D64) to DSF (D64) with downmix 5.1 to 2.0):

Other than his posthumous People, Hell and Angels (and the Filmore concert) Jimi never had any of his work done in hirez, let alone 5.1 surround.  That must be a bootleg of some sort.

I have The Filmore and People, Hell and Angels (The Filmore sounds fantastic).

I believe that this is a 2008 Blue Spec Japanese hybrid SHM-SACD, which is now out of print and was a limited run. (that’s the only SACD version/ release of this album I could find, however since there’s is no tags or meta data on the 5.1 DSF I have, I’m not ruling out the possibility it could be a bootleg, it’s definitely possible).

Can you help me?

I have 6.7 installed. The update says that 7.07 is available.

However when it downloads the update and starts to install -

the install is for 6.7 again.

I don't know if my computer is getting confused or you are providing 6.7 by mistake.

Any ideas?

Jeff
