Brovig
It's been a few years since AutomountMaker was referenced as the most reliable way of mounting a NAS drive in Mac OSX. Do you feel this is still the case or are the better ways these days? Link to comment
Brovig
Are you using nfs? Yes. Or at least i think I am. It's a Synology server. Link to comment
wgscott
You should be able to simply mount an NFS share with the Finder. I've also got some detailed instructions on how to do it, on a computer at work, and I just realized it is down and won't be able to reboot it until tomorrow. Brovig
Yes, one should and one can. But plain OSX doesn't quite do the trick. I need something that's automatic and robust and that doesn't drop the NAS connection after sleep etc. That's the need that AutomountMaker was designed to meet. I think it remains the best tool for the job but it hasn't been updated in 3+ years so I wanted to check with people here. Thank you for the link! Link to comment
wgscott
I keep all my NFS disks mounted permanently this way. Also, this is an option: http://www.bresink.com/osx/NFSManager.html Interesting observations/warnings on the page as well. Link to comment
