Audiophile Dave
I have a 5.1 surround system using an Integra 80.3 pre pro. What do I need to play 5.1 wav or flac files like the ones at iTrax? The Integra has HDMI, S/PDIF, Toslink inputs. It decodes all the matrix surround formats and 5.1 PCM from my Oppo 85 Blu Ray player via HDMI. But how do I get the 5.1 flac or wav to play. Do I need a computer? How do I output to the Integera? Do I need a separate DAC? BTW I already have a 2 channel setup in another room using a Mac, Pure Music and a Wyred for Sound DAc. Works great. Thanks in advance for the advice. Link to comment

Thanks in advance for the advice. I don't have any of these files and only "do" stereo for music, but I think I recall an earlier conversation that indicated the Decibel music player for Mac is perfectly capable of playing these files if connected to a compatible system via HDMI. You might try downloading Decibel trial, hooking up your Mac directly to your AVR via HDMI, and giving it a go.
