Cool test. I did not know about this.    Shocking how different the tidal speed test is vs internet speed.   Tidal test I got

Latency: 23ms
Speed: 32.4Mbps

With Comcast speed test I got 89.3. With the lumin running at the same time Rush moving pictures MQA.

Comcast = 245Mbps and Tidal 65.6Mbps here.  Comcast uses dedicated servers directly to your I.P. to make things look good.

Denafrips Terminator + DAC fed by a Denafrips GAIA DDC, HTPC running JRiver MC, iFi PRO iCAN Signature headphone amp, Marantz AV8805, OPPO BDP-105 for SACD ripping, Sony UBP-X100ES for watching and listening, McIntosh MC1201s Front L/R with Bryston powering the remaining 5 channels, B&W N-801s, B&W HTM-1 in Tiger Eye, B&W 801 IIIs on the sides and in the rear, JL-F212 sub, ReVOX PR-99Mk II, Rega P10 and Alpheta 3, PS Audio Nuwave Phono Amp, Audeze LCD-4 and LCD-XC, UE18 IEMs, Sony CD3000 rebuilt, Sony VPL-VW995ES laser projector, Joe Kane Affinity 120" screen, Cables: Cardas Clear Beyond speaker, Wireworld Platinum Elite 7 RCA, custom (by me) XLRs using affordable, quality parts 🙂

I have an ignorant question.  Since the Lumin L1 is a NAS, can it simultaneously support more than one Lumin player on the same network?

I'm guessing it would work but not sure if the L1 can handle the multitasking.

Music server: Two Lumin L1 music servers

Digital to Analog Converter(s): Lumin S1, two D1s and a D2

Amplifier(s): Peachtree Audio Grand Integrated

Loudspeakers: Martin Logan Summit X

Headphones: Stax SR-009

Headphone Amplifier(s): Woo Audio WES

Coinciding with the release of Lumin D2, Lumin Firmware 10 (for all Lumin network players and transport) introduces support for Spotify Connect. Note: Requires a Spotify Premium account.

Although it was possible to use Spotify Connect via AirPlay, the Lumin native support of Spotify Connect offers the following advantages:

- Better sound quality - as confirmed by beta testers and our own listening tests

- Support for multiple platform including Android

- Instantaneous response via Spotify app

- Optional upconversion to DSD - so even DSD-only LampizatOr DAC owners can enjoy Spotify via Lumin

Lumin supports Roon Ready, MQA, Tidal Masters, Qobuz Hi-Res, Spotify Connect, TuneIn, AirPlay.

Peter -

Regarding the Lumin D2, was there a product announcement?

Since upgrading to the latest firmware, my D1 doesn't seem to waking up from sleep.

Anyone notice the same issue?

Also, the app seem to be crashing a lot more often.

Hi,

My A1 has no problems waking up, however I do seem to have more crashes with the app.

Also, the app now defaults to default thumbnail size, every time I start it, and if I click on the cover in upper left corner, it covers the screen, but when I then dismiss the cover, the thumbnails are now gone - the space is completely blank, and I have to navigate again to see the covers/thumbnails

otherwise a superb app!

Please state your model of iPhone or iPad device, and the iOS version you're running.  Thanks.

We have an app update submitted to App Store.  Hopefully it'll make things better.

Seeking users to participate in a PCM Filter Listening Test.

Requires Lumin A1 / T1 / D2 / D1

(Not for Lumin S1 / M1 / U1)

Objective: to find out whether an alternative filter sounds better for 44.1kHz music and Hi-Res PCM music using an experimental firmware. Switching between the standard filter and the alternative filter only requires a setting change using Lumin app, without requiring installation of the firmware again.

(It is also possible to downgrade from the experimental firmware to official firmware if desired.)

To participate, please let me know your Lumin model so I can send you an experimental firmware and further instructions.

Thank you.

Problem is that these services do come and go. Often difficult to proceed with development or just wait a while. Seems like none of the streaming services do well financially.  Just now, my family sub with Deezer was terminated just after a week in use. Just not interested in the music they offer. might go back to freebie Spotify, there's a better choice.

For the L1 does it have a separate power supply or is there a direct AC connection?

There is a 12V DC input on LUMIN L1. A switching power supply is included.

If the drive goes phut for a reason, if a new one is installed, with the L1 automatically format the new disk?

There is a post here regarding drive replacement
