phatoldsun
I Love Mr. Franti and Spearhead's studio albums. Yell Fire is a must own for almost any music fan. They keep it real and get political, but somehow have a message of hope. I wanted to get something live. Thought I'd get a Hi-res version. Ouch. I still love to listen to this and it doesn't sound bad for a live album, but looks upsamped. Link to comment
wgscott
I'm very sorry to see that. BTW, if you haven't, get ahold of the movie for which Yell Fire! is the soundtrack. I Know I’m Not Alone | Watch Free Documentary Online Link to comment

beetlemania
I'm into Franti & Spearhead. Glad I didn't pull the trigger on this fraud from HDT. Seems like ~10% of their "hi-res" titles are dubious . . . enough good stuff for me to keep buying when there's a title I *really* want but enough faux hi-res to leave me wondering WTF they're doing at HDT. Roon ROCK (Roon 1.7; NUC7i3) > Ayre QB-9 Twenty > Ayre AX-5 Twenty > Thiel CS2.4SE (crossovers rebuilt with Clarity CSA and Multicap RTX caps, Mills MRA-12 resistors; ERSE and Jantzen coils; Cardas binding posts and hookup wire); Cardas and OEM power cables, interconnects, and speaker cables Link to comment
phatoldsun
Did you complain? Looks like they yanked it. No I planned to but never got around to it with the holidays being busy. They also removed a Levon Helm show from that same website distributor/label (FestivaLink.net). Thanks for the documentary link, BTW. Link to comment
beetlemania
No I planned to but never got around to it with the holidays being busy. They also removed a Levon Helm show from that same website distributor/label (FestivaLink.net). They must have realized (or more likely, been alerted to) the problem. I would guess they will refund your purchase if you ask. After I bought the fraudulently hi-res Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms", they actually contacted me first! I got my money back and got to keep the 44/16 files. They seem like a decent company with good customer service. But, for whatever reason, they aren't willing to verify their hi-res releases. It's quite mind-boggling that they can't take 10 minutes to check their titles on Audacity or the like.
