Philip
This icon is displaying on a MacMini screen. Can it be eliminated? Seems to be coming from the 'Sound' settings in System Preferences. Presumably it is indicating that an external DAC is in use. Can it be set to not display on the screen? Link to comment
Paul R
Actually, that means your volume is muted, I think... odd. Try raising the volume and see if it goes away. It should appear only for a coupe seconds and this disappear, and then only when you change the volume. -Paul Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat DAC. Robert A. I think it means the system volume is disabled/overridden (note the "slashed circle") -- it's what I get on my office system when I hit volume-up on the keyboard, because I have Pure Music set to control the volume. Paul's right that it should go away by itself after a couple of seconds. If it's not going away, just restart the mini -- that should do it. --David Listening Room: Mac mini (Roon Core) > iMac (HQP) > exaSound PlayPoint (as NAA) > exaSound e32 > W4S STP-SE > Benchmark AHB2 > Wilson Sophia Series 2 (Details) Office: Mac Pro > AudioQuest DragonFly Red > JBL LSR305 Mobile: iPhone 6S > AudioQuest DragonFly Black > JH Audio JH5 Link to comment
