slammy
I'm having an issue with no sound out of Audirvana Plus 1.1.2 via my DAC. I'm on an older MacBook Pro running 10.6.7, trying to play through a Wavelength Brick v3. Previously, everything worked fine through the DAC, with great sound both in iTunes Integrated Mode and with the Audirvana playlist. Now, I get no sound when selecting the DAC in Audirvana prefs. (I do get sound through the internal speakers when selected in Audirvana prefs.) iTunes alone still plays fine through the DAC. What I'm noticing is that during Audirvana "Initializing Audio Device", the OS System Prefs > Sound > Output device selection switches from Brick #3 USBDAC to Internal Speakers. Switching it back does not help. When I stop playback in Audirvana, the OS output device changes back to the DAC. This happens every time Audirvana initializes or stops playback when the DAC is selected. Also, Audirvana prefs > Audio System > Preferred Audio Device shows the DAC selected. But when I click Change, the dropdown list shows "Built-In Output" (the DAC is also in the list). Not sure if this is expected. This issue began after I powered down the DAC a few times, rearranging power cables. I've tried rebooting the machine, reconnecting the DAC, selecting iTunes Integrated Mode, selecting settings and restarting Audirvana before playback. Debug is below, for DAC selected in Audirvana prefs. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! FOLLOW UP: Hm, I happen to have another MacBook Pro, same vintage, so switched the DAC over to that to fiddle. When I switched back to the original machine with the issue, I started getting Audirvana sound again through the DAC, both in iTunes Integrated and playlist modes. The OS devices selection continues to change to Internal Speakers during playback. Also, not sure why Hog Mode shows off in debug below. I tried disabling and renabling Exclusive Access, and now the debug shows on. GoldenEar
I have experienced similar issues after program crashes. In my system it helped to fire up Pure Music, which was able to reset everything so that I could use Audirvana+ afterwards. No other playback software was able to recapture the audio device. Maybe this is specific to Wavelength systems, since I am using Halide's sound bridge and you obviously have a Wavelength, too?
