    USBridge new setup trouble

Update: I could never determine why I couldn't access the web interface. I believe the dietpi version on the shipped eMMC was an older version, because it would not let me update using the "dietpi-update" command using a keyboard and monitor connected to the USBridge. Finally I decided to reflash the eMMC, which was a little daunting because I have had no idea what I was doing. Turned out pretty simple because the eMMC just pulls off the circuit board. Then I plugged the eMMC into the adapter included with the USBridge. Plugged that adapter into a micro/SD adapter and then into the SD card slot of my macmini. Unfortunately the Etcher program could not see the card, so I switched to a USB connected micro SD adapter. Etcher immediately discovered the eMMC, so I flashed the downloaded DietPi image. DietPi is now working fine and accessible through the web gui. So problem is solved.

I think it would glow. It is because I can log in to Dietpi which means the ethernet is working and I log in using fixed ip address via Putty. But after log in or in the course of logging in connection will close within 3 seconds. Then I will try to open PUtty to log in again.
  5. Hi all, I'm going to make a RPi/Kali/Piano set up in an enclosure that will then pass audio to my amp via RCA. I see that the Piano can pass audio to a volt via the GPIO pins 3,5 and 4,6. 3 and 5 are labelled as audio right. What is the difference between 3 and 5? and can one of these be soldered to an RCA socket on my enclosure? and then one of 4 and 6 be soldered to an RCA socket for the right channel? Thanks a million, Dave

I think the IP changed to DHCP mode from Static. we will recheck this and confirm tomorrow. Is the ethernet connector LEDs glowing after reboot ?

@allo.com @ALLOsupport PLEASE can you enable the Allo webshop that one can order the USBridge WITHOUT case and WITHOUT power supply. This would be VERY kind 🙂 Thank you Best regards Matt

I updated my Usbridge to V6.13 from current V6.9 and unfortunately I can't log in to Usbridge anymore via putty. After log in the connection will terminate with message "Server unexpectedly closed network connection". Anyone faces this issue? I am using static ip for Usbridge. The Allo webpage also doesn't show up.

No sound/audio on USB-DAC. I am running DietPi 6.13 with squeezelite and LMS. There is no audio output on the USB-attached DAC. I already tried 2 different DACs and ran 6.11 and 6.13. Also tried different bitrates and frequencies without success. I also checked that Alsa mixer level is 100. Any recommendation? Jochen

And here it is when it's plugged into one of the two USB ports on the Sparky.

Here you go! I did update to 6.13 before doing this.

Problem solved with excellent help from rahul and team Allo.
  13. It's powered DAC, yes. But is isn't selectable in Roon. Whereas Airplay (Shairport of Dietpi) is selectable. I tried SSH Ver. 6.13. Also the GUI Ver. 6.11. I tried images on SD and images on EMMC.
  14. Is the DAC powered? Can you see the DAC as a selectable device in Roon?
  15. I just installed USBridge on Sparky with DietPi. Roon Bridge and Shairport are installed as SW, SHairport/Airplay is showing up in Roon and working well. But the USBridge doesn’t show up as Endpoint in Roon. IP Adress is available, but i am not able to launch GUI in browser via diepti.local or IP Adress. Any recommendation?
  16. Is it possible to power an i2s Isolator using a 12V (motorbike-) battery?
  17. Update: Nevermind...I tested it with another source and realized the SPDIF cable wasn't seated correctly in my DAC. Oddly, the DAC still isn't showing the signal levels, but that's not your problem. I just got a Digione for my Pi 3 and it appears to be DOA. I've tried two different SPDIF cables to my DAC and have tried it with both Picore Player 3.5 and the current Volumio (selecting "Allo Digione" for both. Music shows to be playing in the player software, but I get no output from the Digione. I've had my DAC for some years (an RME ADI-2) and it has always worked properly. It's showing no signal from SPDIF. The Pi works fine when using an IQAudio Dac+. I've tried reseating the Digione. I'm all out of ideas. Best.

    Allo Digione

    That makes sense.

    Allo Digione

I guess the requirements also depend on the interfaces that are actually active. I typically switch off the HDMI output, Bluetooth, CPU frequency scaling and underclock the CPU a bit.

I have a Paul Hynes SR4 5V/3A and a CIAudio 3V/2.5A that I'm not using. I'm itching to give it a try. Only thing that bothers me is that once the DC converter is snapped off it's pretty much irreversible.

    Allo Digione

Its working fine with my RPI 3b+ playing PCM only, using wifi or Ethernet as Roon endpoint. No under voltage alarms. YMMV if the processor has a heavier load or you start using USB power drawing connected devices.

@jtwrace is it possible to check ssh login and check lsusb result USBridge id 0424:2412

    Allo Digione

I think it depends on what RPI version they have on digione player. It might be possible but we don't recommended it
  24. zacho

    Allo Digione

How are people powering the Digione Player with an LPS 1.2 rated at max 1.1A then?
  25. allo.com

    Allo Digione

RPI needs at least 1.8A (a bit more on boot a bit less after that) We recommend at least 2.5A
  26. zacho

    Allo Digione

So it's possible to power the entire Digione Player with just an LPS1.2 that's rated at 1.1A? @ALLOsupport Can you clarify the power requirements for the Digione Player?
